He is the creator of the Five Nights at Freddy’s media franchise, which began with the development of the eponymous survival horror game in 2014. Released independently, the game achieved popularity and obtained a cult following.
Cawthon released two sequels, “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s 3”, in 2014 and 2015 respectively. The third installment was the last game Cawthon developed in the series.
